bpb Sneak Peek: The Pantry, Kala Ghoda - BPBWeekend

It's a popular bar-sibling that won't serve any alcohol, a French(ish) all-day cafe & bakery with a locavore heart and on the sunny Saturday morning that we visited, as welcoming as an extended hand: we're looking forward to The Pantry, and you should too.?

Run by the guys behind the popular Woodside bars, The Pantry, which opens its doors early next week, is all wide windows and bleached colours, complete with an open kitchen and tables hewn from recycled wood. The tightly-edited menu features freshly squeezed juices, salads, sandwiches, quiches and a large bakery section, manned by a gamine Parisienne called Marguerite. Ingredients, however, are largely sourced from within India, including honey from Punjab, cheese from Pondicherry and meats from Kerala; condiments like mustard are made in-house.?

During our visit we sampled perfectly textured flour-less chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies as big as a quarter plate, a fun snack to munch on as you walk around the neighborhood, apparently the idea behind much of the fuss-free, portable menu.

Look out for the full review!

Getting there: Military Square Lane, Kala Ghoda, Fort, call 9820640695, approximately Rs 225 for a sandwich.
