ADJUNCT PROFESSOR, LIBRARIAN - REFERENCE/INSTRUCTION
THIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY AS NEEDED POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS
SALARY: $44.51 PER LECTURE HOUR EQUIVALENT (Adjunct are placed on salary schedule)
DUTIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing reference services; teaching information competency instruction sessions, workshops, and credit classes; assessing reference services and information competency instruction; and participating in collection development activities. Assignments may include early morning, late afternoon, evening and weekend hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:?

A. One of the following:
1. Master's in library science or library and information science; OR
2. Possession of a California credential authorizing service as an instructor in the appropriate discipline at the community college level; AND
B. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural student environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
PREFERRED:
1) Recent experience with providing reference services.
2) Recent experience with teaching information competency sessions, workshops,
and/or credit classes.
3) Familiarity with assessment of services and instruction.
4) Familiarity with collection development
practices.
5) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, College resources, needs, and Board of Trustees' approval.
