T-Mobile starts to up its LTE game, Google may be working on an Evernote competitor, and WhatsApp moves to a subscription model on iOS.
- T-Mobile's LTE Ambitions Get Real: Network Expansion, the BlackBerry Z10 and an OTA Update for the Galaxy Note II Today T-Mobile will start rolling out an over-the-air update to its existing Galaxy Note II users enabling the device's LTE radio. The update marks the beginning of the carrier's LTE rollout, although at this moment T-Mobile plans to restrict it to higher-end phones like the Note II and Blackberry Z10 when it launches. - Messaging Service WhatsApp To Extend Subscription Model To iOS This Year, But Don't Hold Your Breath For A Desktop App WhatsApp, one of our favorite group messaging apps, is planning to on changing it's pricing model on iOS. Previously, iOS users paid $0.99 to purchase the app and used it free, for life?unlike WhatsApp users on Android or Windows Phone, who pay $1/year after one year free. At some point later this year, the iOS app will move to the subscription model the other mobile apps use, but only for new users. [TechCrunch]
